Sneaking in a little practice last night......

.....I was drawing on a pad of paper and decided to try it at the machine.

It's supposed to say, "Dolly's Home", but it looks more like Dolly's House. My machine bed just does not let me move things around freely........I'm real jerky.  The machine I'm using is not installed in a cabinet or table, and I don't have an auxillary machine bed to add to it, so it's just the small bed area of the portable machine.  I don't know if that's the problem or if I just should have put on the quilting gloves......of course this was just a small 6-inch square that I was using for practice.

    I love your "Dolly's Home"!
    You might just decide to make the machine bed slicker by waxing it--I wax my machine beds with a high quality wood furniture polish--I have one from the Amish furniture store made with lemon and beeswax, but prefer the one made with orange oil and beeswax. I used to just use a spray on "nanowax" with carnauba wax in it.

    Thanks Dolly!! As for the embroidery, 3-4 letters is about right, I can get appx one capital letter and 2 small case letters or maybe 4 smaller case letters per run. They do make a larger hoop that I purchased, so it extends to get about 17 cm (Hard to think in cm, I know!) that way I can just move the hoop over, and not have to rehoop. It definitly can be a pain, but for mainly using it for embroidering names on things, it works well, and I find using the larger hoop I can fit most names without having to rehoop at least.     Very cool! Only the physical limitations of the machine are slowing you down. It won't stop you and you will find some trick to make it work...that along with much diligence in the work... if I know you! GO GIRL!
