(there is a great TED video by her too)
(can't post link--you can google her name and got lots of info)

part of the book is personal --but she is a neuroanatamist, and know how the brain works.. and much of her book is about WHAT worked for her--(and she complained, much of what was offered was UNhelpful--and why)

recovery from a stroke is slow progress, and it can be hard to remember that being able to take 2 mouthfuls of food today is progress if yesterday you could only take one.

It is also a very spiritual book--her stroke helped her see the world in a totally new way...one more connected with higher forces (she does not advocate any one religion, but the sense of oneness and how oneness and love are how we connect to god.)

sAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05396678842259578953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8441102595754363112.post-47748451507028703032010-02-06T21:14:41.484-06:002010-02-06T21:14:41.484-06:00Focus on where he is, and what's happening for...Focus on where he is, and what's happening for him there, and on the things you have. I know, it's always easier to say than do, but counting your blessings really does help.
My friend would start a thankfulness list, any time there was sadness or tragedy. She went through the loss of a daughter, a major stroke her husband suffered, and the loss of a DIL at the birth of her grandchild. She never lost her faith that God was in control, and was a great spiritual example, as I'm sure you are, too.
Thank you for being real and letting us know how to pray for you, God bless, pokeyPokeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12546013812822816960noreply@blogger.com
