Sorry to be absent for weeks, but things were different this month.
I, who almost never get sick, have been sick with a certain viral trouble that's been making it's way through the population. What felt like a truck running over me turned into a reason to rejoice over the LORD's gracious love and care. Living alone, I am more than thankful for His abiding care and provision.......just His very presence is the biggest source of peace in trying times !
And now, having come out of it, I relish the freedom to come and go, and the wonderful workings of this body in which I dwell ~ It'll definitely do til I get my new one ~~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday and the day before, (yes, it took a reCOVering body TWO DAYS), I basted a lap-size (50" square) Christmas quilt . I used the last of my "All Natural Cotton Batting" by Pellon, purchased through Walmart. com, and I am amazed at how much thicker it is than the Fairfield 80/20 which I generally use. I wouldn't want to hand-quilt it, I don't think, but it makes a wonderully heavy, drapeable quilt.
Also, I was blessed to receive much fabric from a friend who was cleaning out some of her late mother's stash. Big and medium-sized yardage of many older prints and flannels. Where will I put it all?? I AM so BLESSED ! My cup truly runneth over !
Well, I think that catches me up for now, except to say that I got really good mileage out of my recently made red squares quilt, and my coneflower lap quilt. They were a great comfort to me through my fevers and chills !
May God bless you as He has me, and keep you well and safe til we talk again !
It is fun to get donated cloth for a quilter like you. You hanging piece is wonderful. I am glad you are feeling better. Being sick does slow you down but you were determined to get it done.
