The quilting is going well on the states quilt. I have quilted 7 out of 56 blocks. I am keeping the quilting to a minimum because of the embroidery, but I don't want to UNDERquilt it. Not sure whether I'll leave those sashes unquilted.
My camera died for a couple of days again, but it turned out to be a battery issue that was fooling around with my HEAD. Problem solved for now.
I was able to gather a very small bouquet of odd flowers this morning from the yard, but mostly blooming now are the Crape Myrtle and Rose of Sharon bushes, and I don't cut them. I have quite a few tall Marigolds, but almost every bloom had some brown on it, so I left them for the butterflies, which are PLENTIFUL.
I saw a doctor about some issues I have been having and he is suggesting that I see a cardiologist, and a neurologist. Still waiting on appointments to be scheduled.

“O Thou who art the all pervading glory of the world, we bless Thee for the power of beauty to gladden our hearts.
We praise Thee that even the least of us may feel a thrill of the creative joy when we give form and substance to our thoughts and, beholding our handiwork, find it good and fair. “.

"Come, and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth; His praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the LORD woud not have listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God, Who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!" Psalm 66:16-20

Awful picture.....
My precious husband assures me that I don't look like this. We don't know WHERE this lady came from ! |
And, WOW, it's been awhile since I've quilted anything with a polyester batting.........and it is WONDERFUL !
I started quilting on Jennifer's embroidered states quilt today, and I am perplexed about how to quilt around the embroidery. So I've started by just outlining the blocks' sashing and stars, and quilting along the embroidered 'state name banner'.
The quilt was basted on a long-arm machine, and has long stretches of thread between stitches that must be 6 inches apart. Because of this, the threads want to catch on everything that comes in contact with the quilt. VERY FRUSTRATING.....but it was way too big for me to baste, and JoAnn is in no condition to baste one the way we used to, so WHATCHA' GONNA DO?
the best you can.

Ready, but not ABLE
Thanks to Jodie Ann, I have a HUGE quilt here, just waiting for me to start hand-quilting it.........
but everything in the world seems to keep coming between me and IT !
I never USED to be this busy ! ! !
I've been making tiny pillowcases for a friend today, along with putting patchpockets on another friend's pants........I'm cooking supper now, and then I have to go out and use my new weedeater as soon as the heat dissipates a bit !
Hope you're all well and happy, and finding some FREE time ! There is STILL such a thing, isn't there ? ! ?
