" Do you not know?
Have you not heard???

The LORD is the everlasting GOD,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary,
and His understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary,
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:28-31

"The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary.
He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught." Isaish 50:4

Heart Strings -- photos

Stats:  Finished measurements 61 1/2 inches wide by 80 inches long, unwashed
Fabrics:  Strips of 1 1/4 - 2 1/2  inch wide fabrics from my extensive stash.  Backing from a 5 yard      length of a fabric bought on clearance at Walmart.....rose print, name unknown.
Batting:  Pellon brand, 80% cotton, 20% polyester, with scrim; 96 inch wide, by the roll, 9 yard roll, from Walmart                ($29.00)
Machine-pieced on 10 inch-square papers from Missouri Star Quilt Company.
Machine-quilted in the ditch of each seam, on my Singer Model 15 sewing machine.

Updating yesterday's pre-finish photos,
I took a few shots today.

I haven't washed the quilt yet.  Normally, I CAN NOT WAIT to wash and dry the quilt, and see the crinkly shrunken goodness of a new quilt.  But this time, I like it so much, I don't want anything to change.

And yet, this is a new batting for me, and I want, NEED, to see the final results, lookswise, as well as how it feels to the touch.

I need time.

  1. Hi Dolly, Your new quilt is a beauty and I like how there are maybe no connecting strips?? that throws a novice quilter like me for a loop. Well....I back off then. I have quilt blocks pieced but quit when it was time to connect the borders and strips. Whew! what a confession! I still forgive myself though..lol. Hope your day is just right...=) and hope you are pleased with your new batt, every bit of the quilt and pillows are so lovely.

  2. ha ha. you're funny. It will look even more awesome washed! Did your batting have a brand name?

    1. You ar 100% right ! I washed the quilt yesterday, and it is now so YUMMILY CRINKLY, I could just wear it as my winter coat to show it to the world ! The batting is Pellon brand, and I'm glad that you asked. I shall add that to the stats at the top of this post.

  3. Love your string quilt ... and love the name. I just may have to steal that name down the road for a future quilt :)

Thanks for stopping by !
