“I have given skill to all the skillful, so that they may make all that I have commanded you. “ Exodus 31:6

“O Thou who art the all pervading glory of the world, we bless Thee for the power of beauty to gladden our hearts.
We praise Thee that even the least of us may feel a thrill of the creative joy when we give form and substance to our thoughts and, beholding our handiwork, find it good and fair. “.
Walter Rauschenbusch

"Come, and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth; His praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the LORD woud not have listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God, Who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!" Psalm 66:16-20

We're dry !

Thank you for the concern, and, yes, so many places around us are in real trouble, with damage to homes and cars, and property due to the flooding.  But we are blessed to be dry on a hill, and even our town is dry.

On the quilting front, I've now completed half of the quilting on this baby quilt.  I shouldn't have posted that teaser shot yesterday........just not very nice.   Here's a little bit bigger look.

But I did put up new shots of the grandkids, as Janet noticed.  T.J. insisted that his mama call me this morning so that he could talk to me.  He wanted to tell me thank you, and the important message was that he no longer sleeps under his sponge Bob blanket !  He sleeps under a T and a T and another T !  He loves the  quilt !  Kelley says that at first he didn't want to give up Sponge Bob, but now when she goes in to check on him at night, he's curled up in his T quilt from Nana.  I wonder if he's even noticed that there are all kinds of things to look at, like zebras, and lions, and kitties.

And Zoe called me a couple of days ago to tell me that she had finally played in her first soccer game.  She said that she had scored once and Mommy and Daddy had promised an ice cream for every score, so they were on their way to have ice cream together.  I asked "who won", and she said "EVERYBODY".......I'm behind the times I guess.....we didn't do it that way when we were kids !

Oh, and the really BIG NEWS !  Seth has started walking !   Tim called me the other day to tell me that he had just taken 4 steps.........Kelley was at work and Tim was so excited that he called both sets of grandparents !

  1. Dolly, I am so relieved to know you are ok. That baby quilt is going to be lovely! I'm so glad your grandson loves his quilt, he sounds like such a cutie. (But you are never too old for sponge bob, he's such fun!)

I started a new blog for my crafting, the link is on my food blog. I won't post as often as you, but check it out when you get some time.

  2. Hey Dolly, thanks for your lovely comment on my ugly quilt - it brightened up my morning over her in deep dark UK where the clouds are low today!
