I made the backing for it last week, and bought a batting at Walmart, too, so I was really prepared.
Even at that, after starting the pinning-in process at 10:30 a.m., I didn't finish until after 3:00 this afternoon ! But, I admit that I did go back and add extra basting, remembering how much I had wished for that the last time I machine-quilted.
So, I'm not sure how I am going to quilt this one, and I don't know when I'll approach it, but now it's ready whenever I am. I'd like to get another big one basted this week, but they're talking about rain now; knowing how long a quilt-basting takes me these days, I may just count my blessings for making it today, and put the next one off for surer weather for most of a day.
My mom made a lot of quilts and usually the process you are doing was done during the winter. The living room was just big enough for it to stay up while she quilted and everyone walked around it. When it was rolled up a little smaller it could be leaned against the wall. That is a beautiful quilt that you are working on, the design is great and the colors are fun to see.
ReplyDeleteThat is sure better then I can do. To be truthful I have not even thought about making a frame.
ReplyDeleteIf I did it would have to be used out side, our house is so small.
Your quilt is lovely
That is gorgeous! I love the bars of colors that seem to blend into each other....=) The wam weather was here too.....and I wish it could have stayed longer.
