“I have given skill to all the skillful, so that they may make all that I have commanded you. “ Exodus 31:6

“O Thou who art the all pervading glory of the world, we bless Thee for the power of beauty to gladden our hearts.
We praise Thee that even the least of us may feel a thrill of the creative joy when we give form and substance to our thoughts and, beholding our handiwork, find it good and fair. “.
Walter Rauschenbusch

"Come, and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth; His praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the LORD woud not have listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God, Who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!" Psalm 66:16-20

What channel are YOU on?

I'm CHANNEL quilting, thank you very much, Christina of A FEW SCRAPS.........until I joined her quiltalong, I never thought of 'straight' line quilting as an activity that you could do by free-motion.  Now, understand, the lines are REALLY NOT straight.......and that's part of the LOVE !
No more walking foot, which didn't work right and distorted the quilt.
sneak peek at the back
This is wonderful to do........yes, your channels get wide and narrow, but it's still much easier than figuring out where to 'meander to' next !  And I think it's easier on the arms, too.  I'm sewing forwards and backwards alternately, and I don't think that there's much distortion going on, if any.  I was forewarned after reading the post that inspired this quilting, and I made sure that I basted very closely........I did threadbasting.  I know it'll be a job to remove, but I'd rather do that than stop and remove all those clanky pins, and I think it prevents shifting better than the pins, as well.

Are you having any trouble inserting pictures lately?
If I have a good night, I can insert ONE photo, and then the browse button is frozen !
I have to publish the post, and then go back and edit it to insert another photo !
INFURIATING !

Anyway, there are 5 rows of blocks in the quilt, and I've quilted 3, so I only have 2/5ths of the quilt to go !  And I'm loving it, praise the LORD !

  1. Morning Dolly, Ahhh, that stinks, that you can't post more than one picture at a time. Dear old Blogger....how you frustrate us at times! I had such trouble posting a header photo....I gave up. Period. Blogger said it would resize the photo but did it ?...nope...huge. Your machine quilting looks like a good thing you've got going there. I kind of want to make a mini like the pumpkin pillow on Dawn's blog. But it wouldn't get quilted I think. We're off soon to do some visiting, inviting a few folks to church perhaps. have a nice day! I like your Etsy wishllist....what a good idea !!!
