“I have given skill to all the skillful, so that they may make all that I have commanded you. “ Exodus 31:6

“O Thou who art the all pervading glory of the world, we bless Thee for the power of beauty to gladden our hearts.
We praise Thee that even the least of us may feel a thrill of the creative joy when we give form and substance to our thoughts and, beholding our handiwork, find it good and fair. “.
Walter Rauschenbusch

"Come, and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth; His praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the LORD woud not have listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God, Who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!" Psalm 66:16-20

Border, border, border !

I couldn't believe it when I looked through my rubbermaid tub and found a piece of yardage that was just perfect for this quilt's border......Praise the LORD !
I think that the quilt is a much more usable size now, and I hope that the hand-quilting will be enjoyable.  Do I make myself wait until the Monster is finished?  Nah........... but I do need to save it for doctor's appointments and other times of waiting.  Better concentrate on finding a back for it now, though.  I don't think I'll want to make a pieced one, even though they are my favorites, because the extra seams are horrendous on hand-quilting.

As you can see from this photo, the wind is up today....

....March is trying to go out like a lion, but with two days to go, and 70's predicted for Wednesday, it may just have to settle down and go out quietly, like a good little lamb.

  2. Hey Dolly! I have gotten sooo far behind on reading all the blogs I follow...looks like you've been very busy. Love this quilt, the colors are gorgeous. You do beautiful work! I am going to go back and read your other posts that I've missed, but probably won't comment on each one...please know that I am reading and enjoying them.

  4. That border fabric is perfect, and I love, love, love the skinny brown strips next to it:)

I have been crazy busy, Sarah got her driver's license this past weekend, so had to go to secretary of state, and insurance office yet again. But she's the last one, now I'm done:) But it is scary having two new inexperienced drivers in the house!

When time allows I've got an idea that I want to put into a new quilt. Soon it will be too warm to work on my huge star quilt, I'll be putting it away till fall. I ended up taking it off the big floor frame and working in a hoop instead. So I want something smaller to work on for the warm months.

Hope your hubs is getting on well, and the rest of your family too! And I hope you have a wonderful day today!!

  5. I love the borders! Perfect!!
Now looking at the "Two sides to every story" quilt (that happens to line up right next to this comment space) this pattern has some similarities. I like them both!

Quilt guild was canceled for this Thurs. :( What's with that? I am not happy about it! No reason was given on the phone message. But have made plans to go to Betty Bailey's on Friday morning so that will have to do...probably even better :)
