“I have given skill to all the skillful, so that they may make all that I have commanded you. “ Exodus 31:6

“O Thou who art the all pervading glory of the world, we bless Thee for the power of beauty to gladden our hearts.
We praise Thee that even the least of us may feel a thrill of the creative joy when we give form and substance to our thoughts and, beholding our handiwork, find it good and fair. “.
Walter Rauschenbusch

"Come, and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth; His praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the LORD woud not have listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God, Who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!" Psalm 66:16-20

Dipping my toe into the 21st century.....or the end of the 20th, maybe?

Seeing as how this is a weB LOG, I think I'll record, for posterity, the fact that I've finally gotten myself a cellphone.  Granted, it is a prepaid TracFone, but, like I say, I'm testing the waters !

I was out for 2 whole hours this morning, running errands and restocking this place with groceries.......I ate mostly junk food while hubby was in the nursing home, except for the meals I took with him down there.......while hubby waited here, alone, at home, and it dawned on me that I had promised the daughter that I would look into getting a phone to take with me.

I only plan to use it for emergencies, so I'm not giving out the number, but I feel much more 'in touch' now.

So, congratulate me..........I"M IN !

Don't even ask me about texting, 'cause it ain't happenin' !

  1. Congratulations! I was 31 before my first cell phone! LOL

My parents were pulled into the techno age too. But, they see the benefits; safety, reliability, handiness of it all!

I really like the spoon on your header!

  5. Good for you! Its so nice to have a cell phone with you. Kind of like security. And texting isn't hard really...although it does frustrate me...I can't get used to finding the letters for each word very fast. We will be looking at phones soon...our 2 year agreement on ours is up. Fun, or frustration...we will see..=)

  6. So glad that your sweetheart is home with you! I will pray for your days. We did not get a cell phone until we could afford it, and then, it was because of my work as a tutor in the summer. Now, I will do anything to keep it! Such security in having one, I hope you do allow yourself to use it!

  7. I'm with you Dolly! My cell is a pre-paid, for emergencies only, and I don't text. When I went to renew minutes on mine and hubby's cells (both pre-paids) the other day, everyone was looking at me like I was an alien or something because I only wanted to put $5 on each phone. When I commented that the $5 was good for 60 days they all nearly passed out! I don't think they could imagine making it a WEEK on $5 worth of phone time, let alone 2 MONTHS. LOL
