“I have given skill to all the skillful, so that they may make all that I have commanded you. “ Exodus 31:6

“O Thou who art the all pervading glory of the world, we bless Thee for the power of beauty to gladden our hearts.
We praise Thee that even the least of us may feel a thrill of the creative joy when we give form and substance to our thoughts and, beholding our handiwork, find it good and fair. “.
Walter Rauschenbusch

"Come, and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth; His praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the LORD woud not have listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God, Who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!" Psalm 66:16-20

First post of 2010

I stayed up until around 1:30 a.m., seeing in the new decade, knitting.
Slept late, and woke to the sun shining beautifully.

Got a load of laundry done and hanging out on the line......hope it doesn't freeze ! Baby, it's cold outside !

The rest of the day is shaping up to be a lazy one......I can't baste the white quilt, as I have some kind of little cut on the end of my right ring finger, and it keeps getting re-opened everytime I bang it on something........I don't even know where it came from. But I won't take a chance on it ruining the white fabric, so instead I'll just keep working on this new scarf I'm making.

I've found that as much as I love working with good quality wool, the scarves and hats really make my head and neck itch ! So I went downtown and bought myself a super skein of good ol' Red Heart, and started myself a Fisherman's Rib scarf based on the demo seen here. Aren't those the fattest ribbed stitches you've ever seen........it feels so good ! She didn't give any instructions, so I'm just winging the beginning and edges.

China just seemed like the perfect backdrop for a quick photo.......I moved things around in the computer room, and now she has a sunny window to lie in all day. She rarely comes out of here anymore, but she is very grateful and lets me know it. So, she tolerates my photographic efforts.
Gonna get back to knitting now........ta ta !

  3. Love the scarf, I'd love to squeeze it, it looks thick and squishy. You kitty is darling. My dogs like to lie in the sun too, but this time of year we rarely see it.
