Praise !

The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear....Psalm 27 1-3
Psalm 31: 7, 8
I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy; for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;
And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; thou hast set my feet in a large room.

Time for bed

I had a pretty productive day.  I set up a quilting station in my sewing room, placing my cabinet-machine in front of my cutting table, and snugging the ironing board up near my left elbow, all for supporting the weight of the quilt.

 I machine-quilted the 'bones' of the brown quilt, going down in the ditch of all the long, light-colored sashing strips.  Now I'm doing some cross-seams.

I have a stencil that I think I am going to use on the wide strips, but it involves lots of twisting and turning to do with the walking foot, so I'll take it a bit at a time.  I think I'm going to like the finished look.
Today's weather started out cloudy and cool, but by mid-afternoon, it was 74 degrees and sunny with very little wind.  My baby girl turned 36 years old today.  I got to say 'happy birthday' over the phone, but my voice is so weird that she couldn't really hear much else.  That makes me sad.  But she had a good day and that makes me happy.
Buttercups are blooming all around me, and I especially love these two-tone ones that are around the mailbox.

I even have a couple of Hyacinth blooming.  Welcome, welcome little blooms, so beautifully adorned by our heavenly Father.

  1. Dolly your header is gorgeous! It is a burst of beauty. =)

    I wish it was 73 degrees here. We are still chilly even after getting into the 40's. Just typing 40 after typing 73 makes it sound frigid..haha.

    Thank you for your very kind compliments over at my blog. Remember, that picture isn't a close-up bless your heart. smile.

    Your ingenius arrangement re quilting table is impressive. You are so clever and such an artist, I am always in awe of your finished quilts. I think when I start a project of any sort...I so easily get side-tracked or overwhelmed. Don't know why....hereditary I think....(blame it on my mom haha...but really she was so plucky....I don't ever remember seeing her discouraged and she crafted things like a factory in one lady!)

    Thats nice your daughter had her BD recently...and you got to talk to her and hear her voice. Its the pits living in different states. My daughter is in the south and moving deeper in down there. Hubby's job. Oh well, we are still here ....praise God! every day is a miracle of life and has so much to be thankful for. God really does load us with benefits daily.

    We don't really get around to many things far away....the last two Saturdays...yes we did =) and I hope to keep an eye out for more special things to go to. I love going to half price books....do you? We stopped there yesterday and I got a Susan Branch book for $1. and a cake mix book also. Better go now and get a bit of rest. Choir practise is coming up at 6. God bless you Dolly!

  5. Your photos are lovely! We are expecting more snow tonight (3.25) but they say the worst of it will be out on the Cape (Cape Cod, that is. Massachusetts.) I look forward to coming back to this blog, and will list it tonight on a new page of my own: http://atquiltersquarters.blogspot.com/. I invite you to come and visit us there :)
