“O Thou who art the all pervading glory of the world, we bless Thee for the power of beauty to gladden our hearts.
We praise Thee that even the least of us may feel a thrill of the creative joy when we give form and substance to our thoughts and, beholding our handiwork, find it good and fair. “.

"Come, and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth; His praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the LORD woud not have listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God, Who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!" Psalm 66:16-20

He's in

Hubby made it to the nursing home this afternoon, and I've been back and forth, trying to get the things I think he needs to be more comfortable.

I am thankful that the LORD has provided a place for him to recover, and at the same time, I am praying for him and all of the others who are staying there.  It is a sad, sad place.  I wish I had never had to see it and yet we need it right now.....and it makes me ashamed of myself to feel that way.
There are some pitiful, miserable people in this world, and most of us never see them or know anything about them.
Tonight, please take just a moment in your prayers to ask for extra compassion for the forgotten ones.  And the ones that can't speak up for themselves.
I am saddened......and at the same time, I hope that the LORD can use me in some small way to help one of these brothers or sisters of mine, for his glory.

Goodnight

  2. Oh Dolly, sew thankful he's there and close and that you're there and close and that he's one of the ones going home to someone who will love him and take care of him. We've done our share of visiting loved ones and friends in the nursing home. Another reason I wish we lived in a perfect world where family and friends took care of family and friends even if it meant sacrificing an extra job for the boat, bigger house and new car. Not that everyone is in that situation, but I can't imagine that nursing homes are what God intended for those in need of help and home.

Bless you love, for your heart and soul!

  3. Dolly, I am so glad he is closer to home for you now.
I used to do hair in a nursing home, and I know how sad and lonely those places are. It was a very difficult place to work. Most people can only take it for so long, before getting burned out and having to get out of it.

I agree with your friend Dee, above, I also do not believe that God intended nursing homes the way they are used today-to just dump people and leave them there in order to not have to change one's lifestyle or give anything up by actually caring for people.

    You have a good heart:)

  4. I'm so glad he is closer to you...I know what you mean this past summer my grandfather was placed in a Nursing home for a couple of months and it was really really sad. He is now in assisted living...but I still think of all those who are still there...so sad *hugs*
