“I have given skill to all the skillful, so that they may make all that I have commanded you. “ Exodus 31:6

“O Thou who art the all pervading glory of the world, we bless Thee for the power of beauty to gladden our hearts.
We praise Thee that even the least of us may feel a thrill of the creative joy when we give form and substance to our thoughts and, beholding our handiwork, find it good and fair. “.
Walter Rauschenbusch

"Come, and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth; His praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the LORD woud not have listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God, Who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!" Psalm 66:16-20

They DO get under your skin......

.....hexagons, I mean !

I guess that's why people put a 'hex' on you !

Anyway, I haven't been posting, but I have been working.  The baby quilt is coming along fine........a corner of the design takes me all afternoon.  I try to quilt a corner per session, with a day off in-between.

Then, I get to play a little.

I'm making a new cover for my Bible.......
......this is the current cover that I have on it........from my "dotty" days.  (By the way, looking at it here, I realize that this is THE BEST polka-dot fabric I have EVER seen, and I have NO IDEA where I got it !)

But a new idea came to me the other night as I was playing with my hexagons......
So, here's my start.
Doesn't it sortof put you in mind of stained glass?
I'll probaby take the project
with me tomorrow.

Tomorrow afternoon is the monthly get-together
of the local quilters.  I hope to
go and take
for show and tell.
Autumn's birthday is this weekend,
so this is my only chance to
share it before I
say goodbye to it.  It's one
of my favorites I've ever made.
I'm so glad that bloggers' work
convinced me to give
machine-quilting another try !

The hexies do look like stained glass. Anyway to put a strip of black in between them?
